(Y)our Mission Always

I've been doing this for years, but if you haven't thought about it, you need to.

We need to be in a position for however long God instills in your spirit to be ready for, any time period that basic necessities are not available.

While it is certainly biblical to live by faith and be able to depend upon God in all areas of our lives, we don't get up in the morning and say, "Lord, give me some pants and shirt to wear today" because that is one of the things we have to prepare for ahead of time. Now watch the video and you will definitely come away with a clear understanding of what it means to be a "Prepper!"

So this is kind of our first mission for our immediate and possible furutre, but then there's the advacement of the rest of God's Kingdom!

This is easy to understand when you look at it from a logical view!

First I will give you the biblical perspective to illustrate what the process is!

Right after the verses expounding on our blessings "Sermon on the Mount", is a short explanation about our  virtues.

Matthew 5:13-16
13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.

14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.

15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.

16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

So, addressing verse 13, What is salt? In the pre-modern ages, before we had refrigerators, what was salt used for? In fact, some cultures are still doing the same process even until today!

Salt is used as a preservative, to enable longer term preservation of certain meats before consumption. Salt is also used as a cleansing agent.

Let me give you an answer that perhaps will make you ponder for a long time to come! We know too much salt is not good right?, thus the Dead sea has a high concentration of salt and thus can't yield any life in it!

We can see on the TV that the salt flats in Utah have no vegetation growth on them and thus are used as a huge testing ground for high speed vehicles.

But what happens when you have the right balance of salt? Does it yield an environment that allows growth, but at the same time restricts bad bacteria?

Think of what happens to stagnate water when you let it sit outside in a container over a period of time. Usually, because of environmental conditions, it will change into something not so clean or usable right?

So now, why do you suppose God made the oceans with a healthy level of salt in the water?

SO, as the bible verse says, "YE (We) are the salt of the earth!" So when we help spread the Kingdom of God, we are literally helping to cleanse the earth of sin.

Now, addressing verse 14, this is an easier lesson, when you light a candle in a dark room, or just a match, or just your lighter, what happens? Does all of the dark overwhelm the light?

No, even the smallest element of light can be seen in the dark. Now I won't go into if you added ten thousand candles in the dark, but you get the idea.

Ok, so now, how is the darkness of the world described in the bible?

Matthew 6:22,23 22 The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. 23 But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!

Luke 1:76-79 76 And thou, child, shalt be called the prophet of the Highest: for thou shalt go before the face of the Lord to prepare his ways; 77 To give knowledge of salvation unto his people by the remission of their sins, 78 Through the tender mercy of our God; whereby the dayspring from on high hath visited us, 79 To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.

We as born Again believers are God's priesthood and we have a job to eliminate darkness in the world by bringing light, and in God's timing, helping those who walk in darkness to turn to the light and accept the light and then eventually become workers of light.

There's an old saying that you won't find in the bible, but it goes like this, "For evil to dominate, all it takes is for good men to do nothing"!

Now, how about the verses in Luke 10?

After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come.

2 Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.

3 Go your ways: behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves.

4 Carry neither purse, nor scrip, nor shoes: and salute no man by the way.

5 And into whatsoever house ye enter, first say, Peace be to this house.

6 And if the son of peace be there, your peace shall rest upon it: if not, it shall turn to you again.

7 And in the same house remain, eating and drinking such things as they give: for the labourer is worthy of his hire. Go not from house to house.

8 And into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you, eat such things as are set before you:

9 And heal the sick that are therein, and say unto them, The kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.

10 But into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you not, go your ways out into the streets of the same, and say,

11 Even the very dust of your city, which cleaveth on us, we do wipe off against you: notwithstanding be ye sure of this, that the kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.

12 But I say unto you, that it shall be more tolerable in that day for Sodom, than for that city.

13 Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon, which have been done in you, they had a great while ago repented, sitting in sackcloth and ashes.

14 But it shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the judgment, than for you.

15 And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted to heaven, shalt be thrust down to hell.

16 He that heareth you heareth me; and he that despiseth you despiseth me; and he that despiseth me despiseth him that sent me.

17 And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.

18 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.

19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

20 Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.

21 In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight.

Pay particular attention to verses 19 & 20! These verses are relevant forever to the elect of God! We have been sealed by HIS Holy Ghost unto the day of redemption! We can be confident in all things, in all situations, in any trial or adversity, through FAITH in our God who is sovereign over all things!

Read Romans 8:32-39 32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?

33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth.

34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.

37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,

39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

I bring to your attention especially verse 38! Because if you've read your bible than you know about principalities and powers and the workers of darkness! Here's the verses.

Ephesians 6:10-15   10
 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.       11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
