One Day at a Time

One Day At A Time

Any scripture referenced in the poem is attached at the bottom of the page for your listening pleasure.

Here I am again, typing out some spiritual inspirations that I feel need to be posted.

Today I felt the Lord tugging at my conscience about actively living to please HIM!

How each day I need to remember to get up, and take Jesus with me. I need to remember to concentrate on trying everyday to live my life in a way that is pleasing to God.

That means many things, but to me it particularly means a daily honest walk. Each day and week I am confronted with thoughts about how I will process the activities in my life. It is easy to think that I could not do certain things just because it would make my life easier in the future. How often do we avoid honest activities to allow for our own ill-fated wills to be invoked?

Do you live each day to try to please God? It’s easy to keep God out of our personal life and only let him in when we want to exercise spirituality. This might only be on the weekend when we decide to go to church. Or during the week at different times when we get convicted that we haven’t read some spiritual materials or our bible and so we decide we better do it a little just to think we are pacifying our God.

How pathetic we are thinking we can take God out of the box or bag we keep him in and just make ourselves feel good when it is convenient for our lives. How often are we guilty of keeping God out of our personal life?

You see the Christian walk is a walk of obedience and we can’t leave God home when we go to work, shopping, socializing with our neighbors or out for an evening of entertainment. That’s not how it works.

We have an invisible boss and He is watching over us and is in us. You think you can separate yourself from Him?

Romans 8:35 - 39. Who shall separate from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or sword? 36) As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted sheep for the slaughter. 37) Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us. 38) For I am persuaded, that neither depth, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39) Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

So now, how do you feel?
