A Daily Spiritual Walk I

A Daily Faith filled Walk

How do we have a daily faith filled, and virtuous walk with Christ? I tell you, you have to adopt a verse like Proverbs 3:5 & 6 and live them out completely! I will paraphrase them a little to make them perfectly clear.

3:5 Trust in the Lord with all thy heart and soul and do not live by the way you understand life to work. 6) In all your ways acknowledge and recognize that God is in control, and He will lead you.

This is the believer’s life in a nutshell!

How does this work? Let me give you an example.

You’re a single mom, you have a son and he is disobeying you. The regular way you punish him is by talking to him and giving him the right way to act by verbal emotion and expression. However, this doesn’t seem to work most of the time. You now have to look at what the bible says, and scale it to the situation.

There are two parts to this, first, look at what God says to your son!

Proverbs 1:8 - My son, hear the instruction of thy father and forsake not the law of thy mother 9) For they shall be an ornament of grace unto thy head, and chains about thy neck.

Proverbs 1:10-19 & 3:1-4 - My son, forget not my law; but let thy heart keep my commandments.

Proverbs 3:11 - My son, despise not the chastening of the Lord; neither be weary of his correction: 12)  For whom the Lord loveth he correcteth;  even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.

Proverbs 6:20 - My son, keep thy father’s commandment, and forsake not the law of thy mother: 21 Bind them continually upon thine heart, and tie them about thy neck 22 When thou goest it shall lead thee; when thou sleepest, it shall keep thee; and when thou awake, it shall talk with thee 23 For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life:

Proverbs 10:1 A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish son is the heaviness of his mother.

Proverbs 13:1 A wise son heareth his fathers instruction: but a scorner heareth not rebuke. 2) A man shall eat good by the fruit of his mouth: but the soul of the transgressor shall eat violence.

For the Parents or parent of their children!

Proverbs 13:24 He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes.

Proverbs 15:20 A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish man despiseth his mother.

Proverbs 17:25 A foolish son is a grief to his father, and bitterness to her that bare him.

Proverbs 10:13 - In the lips of him that hath understanding wisdom is found: but a rod is for the back of him that is void of understanding.

I believe in this next verse, Solomon was trying to say that if the father didn’t punish the son as needed, the wife would surely be nagging him about the son’s behavior.

Proverbs 19:13 - A foolish son is the calamity of his father: and the contentions of a wife are a continual dropping.

Proverbs 19:18 - Chasten thy son while there is hope, and let not thy soul spare for his crying.

Proverbs 19:26 - He that wasteth his father, and chaseth away his mother, is a son that causeth shame, and bringeth reproach.

Proverbs 19:29 - Judgments are prepared for scorners, and stripes for the back of fools.

Proverbs 22:15 - Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod shall drive it far from him.

Proverbs 23:13 – Withhold not correction from the child: for if thou beatest him with the rod, he shall not die 14 Thou shalt beat him with the rod, and shalt deliver his soul from hell.

Proverbs 26:3 A whip for the horse, a bridle for the ass, and a rod for the fools back.

Proverbs 29:17 - Correct thy son, and he shall give thee rest; yea, he shall give delight unto thy soul.

Now, do you continue to talk to your son to try to correct his behavior, or do you do something more drastic to punish him and make him remember your words and the errors of his ways? We as parents, have to punish our kids according to the degree of bad behavior. We may need to take away things like, time on the internet , the freedom to go out to friends houses, or even spank our kids according to their age.

In faith if we follow the biblical guidelines for raising our children, teaching them in the ways of truth and honesty, then we have started to allow God into our life through our actions and our using our faith.

Oswald Chambers, My utmost for His Highest

Is God’s Will My Will?

This is the will of God, even your sanctification. — 1 Thessalonians 4:3

It is not a question of whether God is willing to sanctify me; is it my will? Am I willing to let God do in me all that has been made possible by the Atonement? Am I willing to let Jesus be made sanctification to me, and to let the life of Jesus be manifested in my mortal flesh? Beware of saying – Oh, I am longing to be sanctified. You are not, stop longing and make it a matter of transaction – "Nothing in my hands I bring." Receive Jesus Christ to be made sanctification to you in implicit faith, and the great marvel of the Atonement of Jesus will be made real in you. All that Jesus made possible is made mine by the free loving gift of God on the ground of what He performed, my attitude as a saved and sanctified soul is that of profound humble holiness (there is no such thing as proud holiness), a holiness based on agonizing repentance and a sense of unspeakable shame and degradation; and also on the amazing realization that the love of God commended itself to me in that while I cared nothing about Him, He completed everything for my salvation and sanctification (see Rom. 5:8. R.V.). No wonder Paul says nothing is "able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Sanctification makes me one with Jesus Christ, and in Him one with God, and it is done only through the superb Atonement of Christ. Never put the effect as the cause. The effect in me is obedience and service and prayer, and is the out come of speechless thanks and adoration for the marvelous sanctification wrought out in me because of the Atonement.

My hope for you is that you have had a prayer of salvation,
and if you haven't and you want to ask Christ
into your heart and life, then I offer these words for you
to repeat, but only if your heart is sincere,
because God knows it if you're not.
Dear God, I now know I have needed you and have
rejected your calling, so today, right now, I ask Jesus Christ
to come into my heart and my life, and forgive me from all
past sin and Lord cleanse me from my unrighteousness.
I believe that Jesus was crucified for my sin, died, and was
buried and rose from the dead according to the scriptures.
I want you forever more to be my guide and I want to follow you
as a believer. I ask for your strength to change my heart and my
earthly ways so that I can become a better child in
your kingdom. Show me how to depend on you in
all things. And show me how to do your will in my life.
I thank you and pray this prayer in the
name of Jesus Christ, Amen!
