Being Called, or Being Led

Sometimes we're led into poverty or duty by God.  You will know which it is as you go in that direction. Sometimes like Job, we have to give it all up. We have to be emptied in order to experience God's full blessings. We are so full of ourselves, so full of life, so full of material things. We haven't a clue what it takes to be in God's will or be one in the Spirit of God. The devil has designed the earth to be manipulative because we have to conform to it. So it automatically forms our nature to adapt. But, what we don't realize is that, while we're adapting, we're falling further and further out of God's will for our lives.

We are so wrapped up in ourselves and what we need to do to survive, that we can't see the light. We take on worries and burdens that the devil puts on us because he can. He is so slick, we are dumbfounded and sometimes overwhelmed by worldly responsibilities. We can't understand many things. Remember, the devil is the prince of the air, and the influence in this earth.

God will do whatever it takes to get your attention. We're so satisfied to live in our comfort zone. We have different levels of comfort. Not everyone lives in the same level of comfort. Regardless, if God calls you to service in a way your not ready for, He will take away your comfort zone, He will slowly cause your life to cave in so you will have to follow the path He sets for you.  It doesn't matter whether your married or single, it will happen.

Now, we need to listen to His calling. He will speak to us when we're at our weakest point emotionally and maybe even physically. He will bring His will into existence through us as we are brought low. Look at other disciples He has used. What happened to Saul? Pride goeth before a fall. God had to literally cause blindness to Saul before he would humble himself and listen to God.

There are times when God is trying to speak to us, and times when He is speaking directly to us, and we need to heed the message. We need to be able to recognize the wisdom that is in the message. God knows your mind, and it doesn't matter what frame of mind you're in, He will communicate to you and it's important you need to be able to recognize those moments.

It should be a mandatory assignment that all should read the story of Job. Job's story is one of living life in a comfort zone, then being brought to naught through adversity, being humbled, persecuted by so called friends, and then being brought back to a righteousness before GOD that far exceeds the former lifestyle that was. If God is going to bless us in a way that is extraordinary and wants us to use His blessings to bless others, then He will teach us what it is like to be poor of possessions, poor of wealth and maybe poor of spirit.

You see, He doesn't want to bless us with wealth and have us immerse ourselves in luxury and material things and forget where it came from, and have it draw us away from our dependence upon the one who gave it to us. When God blesses us, we have to realize that, it's for the giving, not the taking.  It's not so we can live high on the hog. It's so we can spread the love and the blessings through sincere prayer and sacrifice. If we inherit the world, we need to give it away as the Lord leads, not hoard it to ourselves and say like the rich man, I have so much I will take it easy and store all my worldly possessions in a bigger barn and party the rest of my life cause I have no more need to work.

Once God has brought you to a point of seeing that all is vanity, why waste blessings on lasciviousness and living a faithless life not depending on God? God doesn't say, here is the financial blessing, use it as you please and don't depend upon me anymore for your substance. It says in Hebrews, without faith, it is impossible to please God. If we are so financially well off, where would our faith go?

This my friends is the focus of this message! When God blesses us, we need to pray every step of the way, don't make a move without prayer, conviction and leading. We need to be very careful too, we may see others in dire straights, and we will want to help them, but remember, God is working His perfect will out in everyone's life, so if you make their lives so much easier, you could be interfering with God's will in their suffering. Think about what God has brought each of us through. Would you have learned perseverance, would you have leaned to operate in the level of faith if someone had helped you through trials?

This is why it is so very important to pray before helping people in need. God is watching us to see how we act with our new found riches, He is watching to see if we're going to fall away because we feel we don't need Him anymore. Don't let this blessing cause your downfall, don't let it usurp your level of dependence upon God. Don't let it blot out your prayer life or your spiritual habits.
