God Hearing Our Prayers

For God to hear our prayers, we have to get rid of old unforgiven sin.

Are you angry with your brother and felling hatred?

If we are not sincerely trying to keep an honest walk before God, our prayers are like the customer suggestion box on the left, they are shredded before they are done. God may hear you, but are you hearing Him?

2 Corinthians 12:9 Says this, And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. Therefore I will boast the more  gladly about my weakness, so that Christ's power may rest on me.

12:10 That is why for Christ's sake I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

You see when we are weak, which is most of the time, we have to commit our troubles to Jesus Christ. Then we can be strong through faith.

I told you before that you have to forgive your brother, and start to pray for him, because he is ignorant of what is right.

Remember what Christ said on the cross...

"Father forgive them for they know not what they do!"
Luke 23:34

As Christians (believers), God's children, we have a big advantage over non-believers. We have access to endless knowledge as the Holy Spirit instills in us the wisdom needed to overcome each difficulty.

Jesus words are in red.

Words from our saviors lips I'll tell you about in John 14:26,27 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. 27) Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

It is repeated in 1st John 2:27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

Now look in Matthew 6:12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. 14) For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly father will also forgive you: 15) But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your father forgive your trespasses.

Peter tried to test Jesus by asking him this..Matthew 18:21 Then Peter came to him, and said, Lord, how oft (that is to say how often) shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times? 22) Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.

That was Jesus saying, we need to always forgive, because are you going to count your brothers sin until it reaches 490 times and then quit forgiving him?

So you have to learn to forgive, you have no choice as a believer is Jesus Christ.

Here's why, Mark 12:28 One of the teachers of the law came and heard them debating. Noticing that Jesus had given them a good answer, he asked him, "Of all the commandments, which is the most important?" 29) "The most important one," answered Jesus. "is this: 'Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. 30) Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.' 31) The second is this: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no commandment greater than these." Luke 10:27 says the same thing.

Matthew 5:44 Tells us to love our enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them that despitefully use you and persecute you.  Does this last part describe your relationship with your brother and maybe your sister?

Remember I told you, you need to pray for them?

Now all this sounds hard I know, but you need to have faith that you can pray sincerely and ask God to give you the strength needed to forgive your brother and anyone else that you feel you have unforgiveness toward.
This could go back to your childhood even.
You know, sometimes, we have to pray for God to bring to our memory, anything that we have done that is not loving, that is hateful, or that is sin, then we can start to clean up our awful past of being disobedient and start to be obedient to God's plan for our life.

If we have unforgiven sin, then God will not hear our prayers, no matter how sincere we pray, because we have not listened to our conscience, when the Holy Spirit in us, speaks to us in a small voice to tell us where we have fallen short of living a Godly life.

All this comes with time, and for everyone, it takes a different amount of time based on how much we can trust God to lead us back to a godly place in our life.

Don't be disappointed and lose hope, because the great thing about this is, God understands our thoughts, He knows our heart, and as long as we are honest about wanting to grow closer to Him and be more obedient, He honors our actions no matter how slow or fast they happen.

My hope for you is that you have had a prayer of salvation,
and if you haven't and you want to ask Christ into your heart and life,
then I offer these words for you to repeat,
but only if your heart is sincere,
because God knows it if you're not.

Dear God, I now know I have needed you and have
rejected your calling, so today, right now,
I ask Jesus Christ to come into my heart and my life,
and forgive me from all past sin and Lord cleanse me
from my unrighteousness. I believe that Jesus was
crucified for my sin, died, and was buried and rose from
the dead according to the scriptures. I want you forever more
to be my guide and I want to follow you as a believer.
I ask for your strength to change my heart and
my earthly ways so that I can become a better
child in your kingdom. Show me how to depend
on you in all things. And show me how to do
your will in my life. I thank you and pray this
prayer in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen!
