Our Greatest Hinderance

The Lord has shown me over a period of time that our greatest weakness is also our greatest hindrance to a full spiritual walk with Christ.
I have one question for you.
What was Jesus ever offended about?

Not what made Him angry.

What offended Him?
I'm going to tell you, nothing, absolutely nothing.

So what example did He set for us?
The only way you will ever walk unhindered in your spiritual walk, is by not letting your self will, get in the way of God's will.

God's will is that we love unconditionally.
How do we do that?
It's not by getting offended every time we turn around. We can't let the Holy Spirit work through us unhindered if we get offended at all. I don't want you to think if we get offended easily, it is if we get offended at all!
God will purge us from our sins as they get the best of us. Whatever it is, that causes you to get out of God's will, He is going to purge that from your life. Whatever it is that causes offense, He is going to purge that from your life. Whatever it is that stops you cold, makes you back up, makes you loose your faith, He will purge that from your life.

You may not realize it, but that is exactly what He is working on.
Every challenge to your walk, every human frailty, every nerve that gets uprooted or irritated at something, He will work on your spiritual walk in that area.

Some of us have many!
Let me ask you another question. Where is it God wants to bless you? Are you letting an offense get in the way? It could be your offended at someone because they are your excuse for having lost money in a bad investment. Did they twist your arm? Did they tell you how much to invest? Now, you don't trust that person, or someone else that brings you an honest opportunity that seems again, to good to be true, and you flinch and refuse to look at it.

Can God bless you through that?
Your offended, is that the way Jesus would be? Or should you forgive that person, realize they didn't go to your bank and get your money, you did. You even bet more than they said you should, thinking hey, if they said $100.00 I think I'll do $600.00. Did they make you lose $600.00? No, they suggested a safe bet at $100.00 and now your mad at them or bitter about a $600.00 loss. You are definitely offended. You need to forgive them, you need to start praying about the person or new opportunity that God may want to bless you through with another act of faith and get off your high horse.

What would Jesus do?
Now, that was one example. How does God bless us? It's through our acts of faith, not through our logic, not through our common sense, not because we're offended, not through what seems right! It's through our unabashed, unbridled acts of faith!
I want to tell you what offense is, it is the Bait of Satan!
I read this book several years ago now, but if you're a mature enough Christian, than you need to read this book. It's called "The Bait of Satan by John Bevere last revision (c)  2004
ISBN: 978-1-59185-413-5 I bought my last copy in Hong Kong, although I have purchased several others in America.
In talking with a friend recently, it came to me that we have to be able to go forward in our faith walk in the same areas we have failed in, in the past. If we don't, Satan has won and we we will continue to be stifled and God may want to bless us in that area but won't be able to because of our feelings whether fear, dis-trust, bitterness or unforgiveness.

My hope for you is that you have had a prayer of salvation,
and if you haven't and you want to ask Christ into your heart and life,
then I offer these words for you to repeat,
but only if your heart is sincere,
because God knows it if you're not.

Dear God, I now know I have needed you and have
rejected your calling, so today, right now,
I ask Jesus Christ to come into my heart and my life,
and forgive me from all past sin and Lord cleanse me
from my unrighteousness. I believe that Jesus was
crucified for my sin, died, and was buried according
to the scriptures. I want you forever more to be
my guide and I want to follow you as a believer.
I ask for your strength to change my heart and
my earthly ways so that I can become a better
child in your kingdom. Show me how to depend
on you in all things. And show me how to do
your will in my life. I thank you and pray this
prayer in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen!
