Our Heart & God's Omniscient Spirit

I have spoken to many people over the years
and told them about God looking at our heart.

Recently a conversation turned to the thoughts
of the heart and our subservient minds and
some couldn't believe our hearts dictated our
minds nor our speech.

Well, here's the actual scriptural proof!
All references are from the KJV.

Genisis 6:5,6 And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. 6 And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.

Genisis 8:21 And the LORD smelled a sweet savour; and the LORD said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground anymore for man's sake; for the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done.

Genisis 17:17 Then Abraham fell upon his face, and laughed, and said in his heart, Shall a child be born unto him that is a hundred years old? and shall Sarah, that is ninety years old bear?

Now for the sake of time and space, I will not type every scripture that proves the heart theme here. There are so many verses that are pure evidence about this fact. But here are some more....

Genisis 24:45 (Abraham's servant in finding Rebekah) And before I had done speaking in mine heart...

Genisis 27:41(Esau's evil heart) and Esau said in his heart, The days of mourning for my father are at hand....

Deuteronomy 7:17 (God addressing the inhabitants of Israel) If thou shalt say in thine heart, These nations are more than I; how can I dispossess them?

Deuteronomy 8:17 And thou say in thine heart,... Deuteronomy 9:4 Speak not thou in thine heart,..

Deuteronomy 10:16 Circumcise therefore the foreskin of your heart, and be no more stiffnecked.

Deuteronomy 15:9 Beware that there be not a thought in thy wicked heart, saying, ....

On to the New Testament

Matthew 5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.. (this means we have to purge our wicked hearts of the evil imaginations that so readily beset us through the fiery darts of the devil!

Matthew 9:4 And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, Wherefore think ye evil in your hearts?

Matthew 12:34 O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.

Matthew 12:35 A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.

Matthew 15:17-19 Do not ye yet understand, that whatsoever entereth in at the mouth goeth into the belly, and is cast out into the draught? But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man. For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adultries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:

Matthew 24:48 But if that evil servant shall say in his heart, my lord delayeth his coming;...

Mark 2:6 But there were certain of the scribes sitting there, and reasoning in their hearts,..

Mark 7:21 For from within , out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts,....

Luke 2:19 But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart.

Luke 2:35 (yea, a sword shall pierce through thy own soul also,) that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.

Luke 24:38 And he said unto them, Why are ye troubled? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts?

There are so many of these factual verses proving the thoughts of man and woman proceed from the heart. I cannot list them all and will end with this one out of the book of Revelation!

Revelation 18:7 How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she sayeth in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow.
